Jani Kovačič is releasing a CD Women’s Stories. The stories on the album are a selection of the stories he collected over decades. Women’s Stories reveal something of the fate of women. “Each song describes a situation in which women often find themselves. Women push life forward, men get lost in quarrels and wars because men have forgotten their role in shaping life - the average man usually shifts his responsibility to the state, to the woman, to the children. The 21st century is the century of women! Women hold the keys to life in their hands. Let the women be female, for this in this way a real man loses his head. As long as that is the case, the world will keep spinning,” says Jani.

The premiere concert took place on October 19, 2019, at the SNG Nova Gorica. A recording of this concert was broadcast on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 8 pm on Channel 1 of TV Slovenia (produced by Ksenija Kos, recorded by Drago Hrvatin, assistant: Davor Lovrenčič). The recordings for the CD were made at RTV Koper/Capodistria in the Hendrix Studio in January-May 2020. Recording, mixing, mastering and production: Ksenija Kos, sound engineer: Tadej Tadič.

Artists

MEDEA NOVAK graduated from the Academy for Theater, Radio, Film and Television, and began her career in 1997 on the Amateur Youth Stage (AMO). As a student she broke through the chains of independence, but today she has been a member of the SNG Nova Gorica for more than a decade. She is becoming increasingly well-known, both with roles in films, series and especially in the theater. She is the lead actress in our performance of Women’s Stories and represents all the women in the song.

NEŽA PAJEK ARAMBAŠIĆ is a certified biologist and pianist. She continues her studies at the University of Ljubljana with a focus on molecular and functional biology. Her music studies began at the primary music school in Grosuplje and continued at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana. Since 2015 she has been a pianist in the Grosuplje Big Band. In Women’s Stories she plays piano and percussion.

LUKA DOBNIKAR is a double bass player who plays all around in order to survive. He completed his studies at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana. He has studied in Graz and currently studies in Klagenfurt. He has played with - and continues to play with - numerous groups and in various projects, one of which is Women’s Stories.

JANI KOVAČIČ is a promising singer-songwriter for whom a bright future was predicted. He is now considered a classic in his field. For the current project he concentrated on women’s stories that he has been writing for decades. At the live event he accompanied Medea Novak on the guitar.
